SMS launches new white label energy insights platform, Smart Energy Data

SSE Energy Solutions, which supplies energy to over 400,000 business customers across GB, is the first energy supplier to use the app under the white label, ‘SSE Insights’.

The licensable platform aims to make energy management more accessible for business energy users, offering easy-to-use energy monitoring tools and an integrated Demand Flexibility Service.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Great Britain are being empowered to take control of their energy consumption and contribute to a greener grid, thanks to a new app from SMS.

Aimed at business energy users, the Smart Energy Data platform goes beyond a typical energy usage app, delivering real-time data on energy consumption via smart meters, personalised tips for saving money, and engaging insights to guide businesses towards making more informed energy decisions. The platform includes a seamless integration with the National Grid ESO’s Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) powered by SMS’s award-winning¹ FlexiGrid and n3rgy technologies.

The launch of SSE Insights leverages the technology behind SMS’s Smart Energy Data platform. The collaboration between SSE Energy Solutions and SMS also builds on their existing commercial relationship, with SMS having been a smart meter installation partner and data services provider for the company since 2019.

As a licensable, white label software solution, Smart Energy Data is targeted at UK energy suppliers as well as other consumer-facing organisations outside the traditional utilities sector –  such as high street banks and retailers – who can white-label the app to boost engagement with their customers.
