"Our people are our most valuable asset and we are fully committed to investing in their development. This is delivered via our performance management programme and by working and communicating with individuals in order to help them reach their full potential within our business. Talent management is also a key focus for our business, fully preparing us for the future and offering career paths for our people.Through our performance management programme we are able to produce an annual learning and development plan which is then fully evaluated to assess the return on this investment. Each individual within our business will have a personal development plan, which links closely with personal and business objectives. Developing and training our staff to a high level is a crucial part of our strategy for the company. We are currently reviewing all our training processes and procedures as well as developing new training materials. In particular, we will focus on further enhancing existing learning and development plans for new and current employees. Our people know the gas business inside out – our objective now is to bring about a change in our behavioural focus to help our staff provide exceptional customer experiences.

As part of our continued expansion, we are delighted to welcome Billy McEwan to the company. Billy was formerly with Response and his wealth of experience in the outsourcing field will be invaluable in complementing the work of the management team. The team has been further strengthened with the appointment of Glen Murray as Business Performance and Reporting Accountant." Alan continued: "Glen joins us from Baker Tilly, one of the country’s top accountancy practices. His core skills as an auditor and his forensic attention to detail will be invaluable as we move the company forward and will see him focus on special projects related to growth planning including management of the Business Plan and Group structure.

A dedicated learning and development area has been established in the office which provides regular updates and training plans for all staff from the managing director down to new recruits.” Alan also confirmed that technical training sessions with contractors and suppliers will be a priority in the company’s training schedule in the coming months. He said: “These sessions provide a great opportunity to meet with our contractors and suppliers to discuss performance and explore opportunities in areas such as cross training and health and safety awareness. They are an excellent forum for promoting a better understanding of each other’s operations and an important element in our ability to deliver excellent customer service."
